Founded in Reggio Emilia, RUM&N was created with the aim of turning scientific research into concrete tools for the nutrition and management of livestock farms.
Founded in the mid-1980s, RU.M.&N. (Ruminant Management & Nutrition) specializes in the development and application of advanced models for ruminant nutrition, livestock management, and precision feeding systems for dairy and beef cattle, buffaloes, sheep, and goats.
For over forty years we have combined scientific research, applied experience and technological innovation to support nutritionists, feed industries, consultants and livestock businesses internationally.

From assisting with ration and feed formulation to the nutritional characterization of raw materials, from specialized training for nutritionists to technical and scientific consulting, we provide the tools and expertise needed to support increasingly accurate, objective, and data-driven decisions.
Driven by a constant push towards innovation, in 1990 RUM&N expanded its activities with the creation of the Software Division, developed to provide the livestock sector with advanced digital tools for feed formulation, nutritional evaluation and management decision support.

To support consultancy activities, the first in-house software programs are developed. Over time these solutions attract the interest of the market and become products for animal nutrition professionals.
Following the first training program at Cornell, the NDS (Nutritional Dynamic Systems) project was launched, eventually becoming the heart of RUM&N’s technology offering.
The collaboration with Cornell University continues over the years, accompanying the evolution of the CNCPS model and the constant development of new software features.
RUM&N solutions support nutritionists, feed companies, universities and consultants in more than 65 countries, with continuous updates and international technical support.
Today our software solutions are used by nutritionists, universities, feed industries, consultants and livestock businesses in more than 65 countries, supporting the implementation of nutritional and management strategies built on solid scientific foundations.
